West Virginia Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education

The CE Shop is an approved West Virginia REC; Provider #80061

Continuing Education Renewal Date: 6/30 each year

License Renewal Date: 6/30 each year

Hours Required By the State: 7 elective hours

The CE Shop's Offering: 7 elective hours

Seat Time: The West Virginia Real Estate Commission requires that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report CE hours.

Expiration date of course: All Continuing Education courses must be completed no later than June 30 each year in order to obtain Continuing Education credit for that year/cycle. Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.       

Note: All exams must be postmarked by 06/30 in order to receive course credit.  The CE Shop will not accept exams with a later post-mark.  Anything received after 07/11 will not be recorded to the student's record with the state.

Final Exams:

  • At the end of each course you will be required to print out your final exam paperwork. The final exam will be closed book. 
  • After you complete the final exam you will be required to complete the student affidavit form included in your final exam paperwork. This form will need to be signed and notarized. It is the student's responsibility to complete the final exam, have the form notarized, and mail both documents to our school in order to receive your Certificate of Completion for each course completed. The final exam must be passed with a score of 75% or greater.
  • Please send to: The CE Shop, Inc. 5670 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., Suite 420, Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111.  Final Exam must be postmarked by June 30 in order to be considered for course completion by June 30th.
  • If the final exam is NOT passed with a 75%, our office will contact the student and make arrangements for the student to take an alternate final exam. If the student does not pass the alternate final exam with a 75%, the student is required to retake the entire course again.

Certificates: Once we have received your notarized form and final exam in the mail, we will grade the final exam.  If you passed the exam, your course completion certificate will be posted in your account as well as emailed to you. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your Certificates of Completion will reflect this.

Additional Licensing Information:

License Renewal Process: The process to renew in this state is to submit your paper work via mail.

Repeating Courses: Licensees cannot take the same course for two consecutive years.
